Emily got her second hair cut on Saturday. I know the "after" picture is a little blurry, but it was an instant favorite. I just love how happy and adorable she is. I would snuggle her 24/7 if she would let me. Now she is really ready for preschool, which starts a week from tomorrow!!

2013
So I know I haven't posted in forever. I have a hundred different reasons for not posting but I am going to try to make it more of a priority. I think that pretty much all of 2012 was spent just trying to make it through each day without falling apart....luckily most days were successful, but it was a constant struggle. Even today (over two years later) I am still trying to figure out how to deal with living my life without my mom. I know you could say, she is always with me, it gets easier with time, or just let it out. Truth is it hasn't really gotten any easier, I absolutely hate crying, and at times unbearable to not be able to hear her voice....
Now that it is 2013, I am ready to put the pain and sadness of the last two years behind me. I pretty much have the same goals as I did in 2012, but this year I am in a completely different mindset than I was last year. In fact, I have already actively started working some of them (which is good because the year is almost half over!). I will go into some of those more in another post...but if you want to know more, you can go to the 2013 Resolutions page.
Onto my favorite topic... Emily!! It is amazing how your whole way of thinking changes and evolves as you grow as a parent. She is such a blessing, David and I literally take a moment every day to thank God for allowing us to be her parents. Below are pictures showing how much Emily has grown!

Good-Bye 2011! You are definitely a year I will never forget. You brought me the happiest and the saddest times of my entire life. I am ready for a new year. I am ready for the feeling of a fresh start.
I have made 12 Goals for myself for 2012. There are so many more things I want to do... my list really could be about 100 items... but I want to make realistic goals and have to make sure to have time for my family and friends too!

- Complete Emily’s Nursery
- Complete Guest Room
- Keep up with household chores
- Go 2 places I have never been before
- Start college

Merry Christmas 2011
Emily's First Christmas was a huge success! Here is a rundown in pictures:
As you can see, Emily made sure all presents were taste tested for security reasons. She loved everything and has had fun playing with all of her new toys. ** Barb, doesn't she look just like my mom in that last picture?** Anyway, I hope everyone's Christmas was as blessed as ours.
I still will be posting a bunch of pictures from our Thanksgiving trip to Texas, Louisiana and South Carolina!

Emily's First "Buffy Night"
My best friends Linda, Kristin and I started "Buffy Night" when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was still on the air. We would take turns making/bringing dinner and we'd sit and enjoy the newest Buffy episode. At first I only watched because it was something to do... it didn't take long to become hooked. After Buffy ended, we continued our "Buffy Night" tradition. We just started from the beginning and would watch two episodes a week. Now that they both moved away, we always try to have a "Buffy Night" when they are visiting.
Linda (who is really the instigator of Buffy Night) is in town from Japan. We couldn't let this trip come and go without a "Buffy Night"! We watched a couple of episodes including my favorite episode "Doppelgangland". I only thought to snap a few pictures of Linda feeding Ems in between episodes.
Ems wore her "I <3 My Auntie" onesie!! It was a great "Buffy Night"... I hope there is time or another one before Linda has to leave again.

Playtime!
Emily has started going to a play group at the library. Linda's sister, Elizabeth takes her son there (he is the cutie in orange below). It is specifically for babies that can't walk yet. This was Emily's first time going, and luckily for her Linda was there too. She got to sing songs and play with Linda.
After playtime did not end at the library. She has also just started playing in her bouncy seat. It is still a bit big for her. We have to put a blanket in the seat with her so she fits and David put a ream of paper in the bottom so her feet can push on something. She is so dang cute in her little bouncy seat though!!
You can tell by the photos below that playtime can be REALLY exhausting!
I love how cute this is with her little feet on the paper!
